If you are a firefox user I recomment the gmail extension.  It puts  a
little notice at the bottom of the firefox window notifying you of how
many letters you have unread in your gmail account.

BTW, I have 50 invitations, too.  Now that I'm using it for ALE I
guess I can expect to start getting loads of spam.  So far the spam
filter looks pretty good.
