[ale] Sharing thunderbird mail folders?

Has anyone done this?  I dual boot win/linux and would like to be able 
to read my email on either OS without losing access to existing 
messages.  I was thinking of mounting my C drive from windows and 
pointing thunderbird on Linux to the mail tree from windows.

Has anyone done this?  Is it even possible?  I wonder if you could also 
share mail filters, accounts, etc?
