Depends.  Some mb have a removable battery, like a large watch battery. 
  Look on the mb for a battery about the size of a nickel.  It will 
simply pop in/out and you can replace it.

Other mb's have a soldered battery.  Often times these mb's will have a 
  plug you can add an external battery.  If not, and it's something you 
are willing to take a chance with destroying, you could practice your 
solder skills. :)
