M$ had come up with some 'innovation' to html pages where they would run 
pages through a filter before IE presented them and certain words would 
show up as links when they weren't links in the actual page.  M$'s 
intent was to sell this service so folks could force feed ads to you via 
IE.  Like you load a page that contains the word 'car' and it loads in 
your browser as a link to the ford motor company...

I don't know what they ever did with it, because they got slammed pretty 
good for intending on editing pages they did not have permission to edit..
