George,
	Well, no need to go around with your nuts driven.  I have historically 
found the freebsd-questions mailing list helpful.  The archives for 
that list[0] can be searched to see if anyone else has run into your 
problem.  My apologies if you already knew that.  Care to post the 
appropriate section of your XF86Config4 file?  I haven't installed X 
yet, but I know that FreeBSD officially switched to that a few months 
ago, so the config file name may have changed.
