At one point in gnome development, bonobo was terribly flaky (yeah. even
flakier than in gnome v.1.4). When it would die, it would block new
network connections while existing connections stayed up. That problem
has (for the most part) been resolved. So the answer is: you should be
able to connect after the error occurs.
