[ale] Selecting stuff in remote X sessions

If behind a firewall then use telnet instead or fix ssh to not encrypt for
that session. Or, use vim instead. I agree it is slow but X is high
bandwidth. You could look into trying the Low Bandwidth Proxy, lbxproxy of X.
I have never seen a howto on setting it up but there may be such.
