[ale] Evolution Reconstitution

I've been rebuilding my laptop and one of the things I have to do is
restore my Evolution mail and settings.

I had thought that all I had to do is copy my old ~/evolution directory
into place and start Evolution and wham, all my old email would appear. 
Instead, Evolution is throwing me wizards for creating a new mail
account, etc. etc.  Did I miss something?
