The newer version of M$ (XP) supports file system encryption on the
servers. I'm not sure if it is available the desktop editions.

The company that makes the commercial version of SSH had a file
encryption tool that was quite good, secure and reasonably priced. It
seems to be no longer available. PGP.com makes the "corporate disk"
product that does what you want.
