If a PC is removed from a win2k domain to be used in a workgroup setup,
how does get rid of the evilness that is the domain?

The old domain controller is not available so the attempt to change from
domain FRED to workgroup ALICE fails.

I know the BEST solutions is to wipe the drive and install software that
works but it's not my choice :(

It can see the new workgroup OK but it is annoying that it is listed
incorrectly.

BTW, in the past week I have run across 5 new Win2k servers connected to
a raw Internet line (DSL/frac T1) with no firewall and a password of
"password". And they wonder why the server is running so slow!
