That pretty much sums up my plan of action. I'm going to go back to
school and gestate myself into a GIS-related direction. GIS not only
has wide cross-industry applicability, but there are great opportunities
for Free Software in the field. I've decided that my IT management
career, at least as I've known it, is effectively over and my "domain
expertise," in whatever domain that may be, past, present or future, is
going to be my market differentiator.
