Okay, I got thru testing enough to see that the HypermediaK 
discs are the problem.  Also, I had the "autorun" process 
running by mistake during the check of the good  4x media on 
the DVD-ROM drive in the Dell 360n P4 system.  That was the 
misleading factor in making me unsure of the Memorex 4x 
media.  I'd still appreciate advice on DVD media brands and 
DVD burning techniques.  I plan to verify each disc on a 
different drive than the burner drive.
