Now use that list an rename all of those nestcapes to netscape.real

ln -s <path to mozilla or firefox> /usr/local/bin/netscape

Now when you start "netscape" from the command line, the linked mozilla
will start instead.

ln -s <path to mozilla or firefox> <path to netscape dir>/netscape

Now any app launcher that was path coded to start Netscape will start
Mozilla.

Each window manager has a "default browser" that is called when an http
object is found. In Gnome, look under Preferences->Preferred
Applications. KDE has a similar setting.

A better recommendation than mangling your path structure is to make new
launcher buttons for your panels and/or desktop. The icons for Mozilla
and Firefox are hiding under the chrome directory for each application.
I have a launcher for Mozilla, Firefox, Netscape and <gag> IE
(CrossoverOffice) so I can test web apps in different browsers.
