We're looking for an experienced quality assurance person for our development team. The job involves writing test scripts that become part of the daily-automated build and test environment. These scripts will eventually encompass most of the functionality provided by the company. Currently there are approximately 950 test cases. By the end of 2004 this number will likely be above 5,000.
QA is also responsible for:
* Doing black box testing, including edge cases (things that are likely to break it that the developer has not thought of) of new software after a developer has completed unit and integration testing. This will be done before it is released to the technical operations group for installation.
* Participating in all development team discussions on development priorities and issue escalation.
* Managing the machines in the QA lab.
Job requirements:
* Unix command line experience
* Enough technical expertise to understand what should be tested based on documentation and discussions with the developers.
* Able to write scripts (in shell, Perl, Python, etc) to add automated test cases.
* A keen eye for detail in order to find bugs that developers miss.
* Is able to break things by stretching their boundaries.
Nice to have:
* Security experience
* TCP/IP knowledge
* Testing of networking applications
* Familiarity with service lines produced by SecureWorks (iSensor, vulnerability assessment, firewall management, host intrusion prevention)
