[ale] Mandrake9.2 boots on 1 box but on 2nd says...can't launch graphical mode, huh ?

At install, where it asks for version of XFree86, think about choosing 
the older version of XFree86, 3.xx.

That's how I got Mandrake 9.2 to run, while the 4.x choice failed repeatedly.

Maybe hardware dependent, not sure, I'm just glad I found the option I 
can depend on.  All has been good with Mandrake 9.2 since then, pretty 
solid distro by all counts....IMHO

> You're doing much better than I did. I downloaded, burned the ISO, tried booting - n/g - so I decided to do something else. Knoppix worked fine. I might try it again, though. Even bought little 64 MB usb thumbdrives for using with Mandrake Move. But for me, for now, mandrake was not moving at all.
