At install, where it asks for version of XFree86, think about choosing
the older version of XFree86, 3.xx.
That's how I got Mandrake 9.2 to run, while the 4.x choice failed repeatedly.
Maybe hardware dependent, not sure, I'm just glad I found the option I
can depend on. All has been good with Mandrake 9.2 since then, pretty
solid distro by all counts....IMHO

Even bought little 64 MB usb thumbdrives for using with Mandrake Move. But for me, for now, mandrake was not moving at all.
