The new kernel works great. Works fine with the tiny mouse and ps2
mouse too.
I think the key was using oldconfig to merge the old RedHat 2.4.20.XXXX
config with the new 2.4.22. When I upgrade kernels on RH I normally just
download them from ftp.kernel.org. Instead of having to walk through the
whole menuconfig and turning modules on everything I simply copy the file over.
One thing that is confusing me is ACPI.
On 2.4.21 it seems that the battery was at
/proc/acpi/battery/0
Now on 2.4.22 it is at
/proc/acpi/batter/BAT0
What hurts the worst is that I modified programs to look
for a digit dir in the battery directory. I'm not sure what is up
with ACPI. On a laptop it is important to know what the
battery time left is.
