[ale] Spam tips - maybe - if you can filter email easily

I use exactly the opposite proceedure from yours.  I filter on the basis
of known mail senders- and direct them to their appropriate folders
(i.e. ale at ale.org goes to the "ale" folder, as does every other mailing
list I've subscribed to, newsletters and whatnot go to the "newsletters"
folder, friends go to the "friends" folder, etc.).

Which leaves my inbox as my spam folder.  I look at the senders when I
receive new mail, and if it's from someone I know, I add a filter for
them, otherwise I select all messages and just delete them. 

It works, and after awhile it's rare I have to add another filter...
