If this is a DTP app, then look into:
  scribus
  http://web2.altmuehlnet.de/fschmid/

It was promoted in a Linux Journal article this month. Publishes directly to
PDF in addition to other printable formats. Seems its primarily distributed
as a source tar package; I haven't compiled it yet or searched for binaries,
so I can't speak to it's features.

I also just found out my favorite DTP program from Amiga days, PageStream, is
now commercially available for Linux:

http://www.grasshopperllc.com/

The program has been in steady development for 15 years. It actually started
out as an Atari ST product, but is now available for several platforms,
including the newest Amiga PPC platform offerings.

Even if the Linux version only matches the features of the (1993) 2.2 Amiga
version, a tool that I still occasionally use, BTW, it would be worth the
asking price. I need to note that it is still a closed source product though,
as that may matter to some GNU enthusiasts.

HTH!
peace
