John - is this laptop kind of long in the tooth?
Reason I ask, I've recently been beating my brains out on a Pentium/60
with Cirrus Logic onboard video and all X that I tried, save that which
came with the quite old SuSE 7.0 Professional, came out quite wrong,
with screens that marginally worked but were full of green crosshatching
no matter what resolution I picked in my config file. If this thing is
pretty old, it makes me wonder if you should back down to xfree 3,3.*.
