Bill is pretty obviously creative, and quite the shrewd business man.
I'll draw the line at visionary though.
FWIW I don't think being creative precludes you from running a monopoly or
being predatory or stifling innovation. Takes a bit of gumption and
creativity to get you into a position to do such things.
Programmers are Engineers in general. I think it's a bit short sighted to
think that people who creatively solve problems are somehow less creative
than people who are creative for the sake of being creative.

For example,
I'll point out that almost everyone thinks of motorcycles as being visually
pleasing and in some form or fashion art. Part of the reason they have such
broad appeal is the tight marriage of form and function. Barring the modern
sport bike the look of a motorcycle is the substance of it. Everything you
see has a purpose.
