I wanted to ask us to consider the H1B issue for what it truly is - a side
issue.

Technological advances will always cause economic displacement - human or
otherwise.
For example - The horse-dung street sweeper's union had no chance against
Henry's production line.
Demand for cars caused the invention of production line at the consequence
of losing horse-dung street sweepers.

The issue is not whether Henry hired displaced street sweepers.
The issue is Henry risked everything to own his own business and won.

We, as individuals must risk everything to have our own WHATEVER to pass on
to our children.
If Whatever means Real Estate than we must focus on acquiring Real estate.
If Whatever means businesses than we must risk everything acquiring
business.
If Whatever means ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE then risk everything aquiring (via
development) ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE.

At the end of the day, India by being a software factory still doesn't own
the code. Bill does.
At the end of the day, China is owning much because they own the business,
artificial intelligence and the competitive market.
But the issue I want each of you to know is that what, you, personally own
is what matters. Not what you make as a programmer or a system
administrator.

I am currently in Colombia and I just finished meeting with the owner of 75
Linux tech companies. It is ownership that matters guys, not what you make
or where you make it. Ownership is what America still promises that you and
I can acquire today, if we want to work hard for it. Not 2%, Not stock or
401k - all or nothing. I came to Colombia because I didn't believe it. Now I
do.

Own your Own.

The haves will always have because they own, not because they earn a salary.
Trying to protect your salary means you are looking around rather than
toward the stratosphere, which God made each of us to do.

Please consider what I am sharing with you and hopefully, one of you will
thank me for what I am saying.
