[ale] usb device distribution among machines?

Since usb support in Linux is (for the most part) 'hotpluggable' I 
believe your only solution is to unplug the device from one machine and 
plug it in the other.  Now you can access devices on one machine from 
another via a network, but I don't think you can actually use usb to 
'network' the devices to more then one machine at a time.
