[ale] peripheral recommendations needed

I'm on my 3rd Yamaha burner (scsi).  Thing is beautiful.  Only time it's
ruined burns is when I do something stupid like start up netscape in the
middle of a burn that'sl already compiling a kernel with a make -j 4.
I've also got a HP scanner, the 5P, scsi.  Works great with xvscan and
xsane/gimp.
