[ale] Q3 killing X

Hey,

I'm running Slack 8.1 w/ X 4.2.0 and a GeForce2 MX 400 and the
appropriate nvidia drivers.  The GLCore and glx modules all seem to load
error free.  No problems.

When I run Q3, however, I get the following in my XFree.0.log:

SwitchToMode - scrn: 0 clock: 94500
               hdsp: 1024 hbeg: 1072 hend: 1168 httl: 1376
	       vdsp: 768 vbeg: 769 vend: 772 vttl: 808 flags: 5
Fatal server error:
Caught signal 11.  Server aborting


On VT1, where I launch X from, I see:

xinit:  connection to X server lost.
ICE default IO error handler doing an exit(), pid = 939, errno = 0
ICE default IO error handler doing an exit(), pid = 970, errno = 0


I'm launching Q3 from KDE 3.0, also.  I don't know if that makes a
difference.

Any/all help appreciated!
