[ale] cups PDF printer

For some foolish reason, I installed the Ximian desktop onto a RedHat 8
system. The new OpenOffice.org from the monkey people crashes horribly
unless the print stuff is cups. So I changed to cups.

But my PDF printer (it writes to file) can't be found. The admin stuff
under cups looks like there should be a file: option, but it doesn't
list in lpinfo -v.

How to I add a new print to location or do I need to recompile cupsd?

Assuming I get a file: location, how do I go about adding a gs
-pDEVICE=pdfwriter line in cups?
