[ale] kernel compile error...

Hi,

I was compiling 2.4.18 with some gameport support, and came up
with the following error, which I had never seen before: 

*** error snip ****

drivers/sound/sounddrivers.o(.text+0x6cbe): In function
`es1371_probe':
: undefined reference to `gameport_register_port'
drivers/sound/sounddrivers.o(.text+0x6fba): In function
`es1371_remove':
: undefined reference to `gameport_unregister_port'
make: *** [vmlinux] Error 1

*** error snip ***

I'm not sure if there's some other option I need to select or if
this is a problem in the module code itself.  

Any ideas which it is?  Or is it something else?

(I'm downloading
2.4.20 as we speak...I'll see what happens there...)
