The only software I know of that will do this under linux is 
cdrecord-ProDVD, checkout:

Be forwarned, if you subscribe to the cdrecord list, the developer of 
cdrecord and prodvd is quite abrupt in responses, worse then me, really..

Have you looked at the new drive from Sony?  I've heard it's the only 
one on the market that will burn every type of dvd format.
