AN ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I have done exactly
this same thing in the past. My 5-year-old Gateway Solo managed to
survive. Having learned that lesson, I purposely broke off the clip
that holds the RJ-45 in its socket. That way if you DO trip over it,
or the dog runs through the house, the most you will loose is a TCP
connection. The down side is obvious but is justified.
