You configure your mail server to use your ISP's SMTP server as a smart
host.  Then your SMTP server will act as an SMTP client when sending
mail.  I forget what the sendmail.cf options is, but if you use the m4
config, you just define(`SMART_HOST', `smtp.isp.com') .  The README in
the m4 directory of the sendmail distribution has more information.
