But I *AM* running my own mail server.  In fact, I have two SMTP servers 
running, and an IMAP server.

Yes, they do drag their feet, they resist tooth and nail, and the do 
suck in many many many ways (yes, I'm still serious).   But they are 
still heavily regulated.
