Jonathon,
I'm in the midst of porting a Sql Server to postgresql, and it's going
smoothly so far. The Postgres guys have a pretty cool admin utility
(pgadmin.postgresql.org), and it has a Database Migration plugin you can
download.
It'll do automated ports of Sql Server or Access databases. I've hit a
few snags, but so far it's going really well. I ported 22 tables and data
in about 15 minutes last night.
Be advised that pgadmin II is Windows only currently. pgadmin III will be
cross-platform. I use win4lin to run it.
Let me know if I can help out in any way.
