[ale] video over serial

i thank you for your replies :) however im not wanting the use of dumb
terminals, that is one use the laptop will have interfaceing with other
computers dont get me wrong however, instead of a moniter being directly
connected to the video card can i take a serial cable and run it from the
video card to a serial in port on the laptop and get a program that
essentially just displays the video card out?
