I'm attempting tonight to import data from a heavy-duty Quicken user into GnuCash. When I grabbed the QIF files off his disk, GnuCash saw them but didn't read any content. After running them through dos-2-unix conversion, it did no better. I'll try about exporting from Quicken officially.
The import docs explain how loose Quicken is with accounting, where GnuCash is real (double-entry) accounting, so the import process should be asking the user to help match things up.
I post my results here...
