You're right.  It's not.  But, from Nvidia's driver installation guide:

You should also remove the following lines:



        Load  "dri"

        Load  "GLcore"

--

I have my home desktop with a geforce 2 32 mb setup this way as well, and
no problems.

Anything else I might look for?
