Locate the rpm that tripwire is from:
rpm -qf 'FULL PATH TO tripwire'
'rpm -e' the results of the above as in:
rpm -e tripwire.rpm
Understand, that anything else that is in that rpm will be removed also.
That may or may not be a problem.
rpm -ql tripwire.rpm
Will list all the files installed by this rpm.
