[ale] [OT] Fewer DSL providers?

My brother-in-law, who's in the radio/wireless buisness, was telling me
last night about a wireless tech that will let anyone provide 3mbs IP
service for subsribers in a 15-mile radius of a tower (much like a cell
tower). He said the initial investment was something like 24,000.00-
not too hefty, considering the numbers of subscribers one could get in a
30-mile diameter bit of suburbia...
I think, as he does, that wireless will change a LOT of things- such as
monopolies on IP connections- in the not-too-distant future.
