I'm not familiar with that book.  Burleson's is the latest, he's been in the
field a long time.  His depth of experience is evident in the book.  I would
imagine much if not all of the book applies to Oracle 8i as well.  His web

He also makes reference to other books covering Oracle Tuning.  Check it
out!
