Assuming you eth0 address is 68.54.20.2
ping -n 68.54.20.1 -I 68.54.20.2

The turn on tcpdump and do it again.

Also post a dump from iptables (sanitized if needed)
iptables -L -v -n > /tmp/iptablescrap.txt  (that can be iptables crap or
iptable scrap. amuse yourself:)
