[ale] that same darn NFS problem

In an effort to limit this to 1 distro, I export only to client2.
the /etc/exports is:

/directory client2(rw)

The mount command on client2 is:

serverip:/directory/public /directory nfs rsize=1024,wsize=1024 0 0

There is a mount point /directory on client2. Moreover, everything "works"
except editing the text files. In other words, the connection is made. The
directory can be lsted. I am not sure what version of NFS I am running is.
All I know is that I was using this setup before with no problem.

I reinstalled the server and started from scratch. No dice. I have searched
for an answer, but I am not really sure how to state the problem.
