[ale] samba mounts just won't die....

Guys,
Connecting to my company's vpn and using a few mounted samba dirs.
Problem is, BS DSL will drop about half hour or so (forcing a reconnect,
which my firewall/router handles), and when it does, I have no way to
umount or kill any processes using those mounts short of rebooting. If I
try to umount it, I get a busy message. If I do an fuser -m /mysmbmnt,
the process hangs. Any attempt to kill it fails. If I do an ls
/mysmbmnt, same thing....process hangs, no way to kill it.
I assume the processes are hanging while doing some sort of read on the
dir, which effectively doesn't exist anymore. Anyone know what I can do
to rid myself of the mounts (so I can mount again) when the DSL/vpn dies?
Thanks,
John
