The MAC address should not change (that does not mean it 
can't be changed).  The MAC address was originally 
concieved to be a globally unique 48bit number. As such 
the IEEE assigns manufacturers 24-bit prefixes and the 
makers assign the remaining 24-bits (usually serially).

Duplicate MAC address can cause problems especially with 
Windows which will puke and die if they detect a duplicate 
MAC address.
