[ale] VNC broken after M$ update

I've got a client who updated their XP box (after getting rid of the
Blaster worm). Now VNC client won't connect to the server.

I'm running a test later tonight to see if the M$ patch breaks VNC or if
the bug broke it. 

If the patch breaks it, this has some serious implications (PIA,
anti-trust, etc...)
