This in-depth study of the usability of Linux vs. Windows XP on the
desktop for ordinary users found that Linux was "nearly" as easy to use
as Windows and that some tasks could be completed much faster. Productivity
gains under Linux due to a faster, more reliable, and less virus-prone
platform were not addressed.
