Mandrake has a really good app for this.

Look in Configuration --> Mandrake Control Center

Under the Software tab. You can add more sources and get almost anything you
need....

For a good source generator.

Hope that helps,

Subject: [ale] Mandrake App Install..

Hello there!

I just got me a new toy, a Dell Inspiron 5100 notebook:

- 2.4 Ghz
- 256MB RAM
- 30 Gig HD
- CR-R Drive
- 14" Display
- 1024x768
- extra battery

For a little over $1000..

I played with Win XP for about an hour before I grew tired of it and zapped
it.. I tried to install Xandros/Debian on it and the screen just blanks out
on the install screen, which is no biggie, I'll just use straight Debian
next
time. I went ahead and installed Mandrake 9.1 (it's been awhile since I've
run it.. 8.2); I was impressed with all the improvements - and the SPEED!
MAN!! The thing runs 2x to 3x times faster than XP.. The one thing that
always got me was that Windows would call up the 'My Computer' within a
second but Linux would take 5-8 seconds to load 'Home'.. Not anymore - it's
instant!

I suppose I should get to the point of this email; does anybody know a
painless way to deal with application installs? I'm an apt-get guy - has it
been ported to Mandrake yet?
