[ale] Drive swap?

I saw a device on TechTV last night from Rio that has a HDD.  It  is
suposed to compete with the iPod.  I noticed two RCA jacks on the 
base unit.  Apparently it has a base that you set it into.  I have
some need to record audio directly to MP3.  Does any other device other
than a laptop provide this functionality?
