fdisk -l /dev/hda is only going to list the partition makeup, I'd say 
that's pretty safe for right now.  df is still only going to show the 
mounted file systems, 'cat /etc/fstab' would possibly present more info

Valid point, although I've not done RH in a while.  Still, I think that 
the 'fdisk -l /dev/hda' is the ultimate solution in locating the missing 
XP, if in fact it still exists...
