Not to be outdone by Red Hat's recent suit against SCO, IBM just filed
a similar lawsuit against SCO. Besides claiming fraud, unfair business
practices, etc., IBM is claiming that SCO's applications are infringing
on four of IBM's software patents.

It was observed that due to IBM's timing, SCO executives cannot dump
their soon-to-be declining stock any time soon due to the "quiet period".
It also was noted that patent infringement suits are very expensive to
defend against. Since SCO is asking for billions of dollars in damages,
this raises IBM's interest and thus its legal budget to this level.
SCO has only $13 million to its name and is losing about $3 million a
quarter so IBM likely will win just by spending SCO into oblivion.

Everything stated here is the opinion of Fly-By-Day Consulting, Inc.
so SCO's lawyers can go visit someplace hot.
