Agreed.  Although I've found some sweet ones at Monarch. :) Sony 20" lcd 
($1340), does 1600x1200, dual inputs.  I recall Dow posted something 
about the contrast ratio, but I can't recall what it was.  I can't find 
any docs on this spec either.  For this monitor it's 350:1 (max).

I've also found a Sony 21" CRT ($669) that does 2048x1536 at 75Hz, 
recommended 1880x1440 at 85Hz.

Another sweet CRT, Sony 21" ($1499 WOW), does 2048x1536.

I've also noted that the CRT's power consumption appears to be about 
double that of the LCD.  To be honest, I would have thought the 
difference would have been greater.

Tom's Hardware guide has a good article on how the major vendors deal 
with dead pixels, which appears to be an issue with the lcds.

I'm thinking of doing the same, although I want a dual head and could 
really use the extra real estate the lcds will provide. :(
