[ale] drive 1 on ata card

Hi,

My old k6-2 350's driver controllers finally crapped out, but i still
want to use the box, so I installed an iomagic ata 66 card.  both drives
and the cd are attached to the card, and the onboard controllers are
disconnected.  I've blanked out the ide values in bios with "none".

Trouble is, I can boot fine from a boot floppy (mount root=/dev/hde1),
and when I rerun lilo with the hdeN and hdfN values in lilo.conf, lilo
exits without an error.  But when I try to boot, the controller card
bios kicks in, but I only get a "L" on the lilo screen.

I've looked for HOWTOs on this, also searched for "ata card" +linux on
google, but so far nothing useful.  

Any ideas?
