[ale] Mozilla question

Mozilla has a way to make web servers "think" it not Mozilla but IE.
(#$*^ lousy web coders) I have been looking for several days on how to
do this and I'm coming up blank. It's not a setting in the preferences
that I've found. So it must be a hand coded prefs.js line.

Anyone know how to do this or where to find the info? There is too much
stuff written for broken browsers (IE) that I have to interact with.
